What is hyaluron?
Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body (in the vitreous humor of the eye, in the umbilical cord, synovial fluid, cartilage, skin, but also in the gums) that binds moisture and supports the healing of tissue. Hyaluronic acid can absorb 50 times its own dry weight in water. Due to this property, hyaluronic acid serves as a barrier against invading microorganisms and other toxins. Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally in our body, but the need for it increases significantly with age, when we feel unwell or when there is an injury or inflammation.
